While our core business is the selling of home furnishings, we also develop and purchase IKEA products in relationship with suppliers. It is the responsibility of the Trading office to work directly with our suppliers.

IKEA Trading is the division of IKEA that provides investigation, negotiation & co-ordination services for products and potential suppliers in North America and Mexico.
We are currently looking for a Textiles Technician for our Houston, Texas office. As a Textiles Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that the IKEA product quality and supplier-workplace safety and environmental requirements meet IKEA standards.
You will:
· Analyze and communicate product specification and product quality requirements to suppliers.
· Analyze manufacturing setups and recommend production-line efficiency and quality improvements.
Who You Are:
· Someone who has:
¡ A good understanding of local and international legislation in the area of textiles and/or upholstery with regard to health and safety, and material/article laws.
¡ Good knowledge about cost drivers in production.
¡ Good knowledge of quality and environmental management systems.
¡ Ability to audit and analyze suppliers’ working methods in quality, working conditions and environmental performance.
¡ PC proficiencies.
¡ A clear understanding of and a passion for IKEA values and principals.
¡ Interest in home furnishings.
¡ One to three years of technical experience from a manufacturing environment, bachelor degree required.
